I would give this a 10 if I could..what a glorious awe inspiring natural wonder. I waited 31 years to see these and it was worth the 5 hour each way drive...one tree that I touched brought tears to my eyes and I felt an immense energy emanating from it..definitely one of the most memorable things I have experienced

One of the oldest National Parks. Also one of the more popular. Crowds everywhere. The hike down to the General Sherman is close to just waiting in line at an amusement park. However, once you get off the path most taken, the experience of the backcountry High Sierras is sublime. There are still a lot of other hikers, but it's relatively easy to get away from it all and find some deep mountain isolation.

Absolutely beautiful. You can marvel at the grandeur of nature. The park has low admission prices and is definitely worth the visit. The sequoias humble your existence. And if you're lucky enough you might be able to see some woodland creatures in their comfortable habitat. The park rangers are very polite and helpful. There are signs everywhere if you are the sort to get lost easily.

Such a peaceful park to both drive and walk through. There was some road construction when we were there (Sept 2017), but only delayed the drive a little. We saw a black bear on one of our hikes. Give yourself plenty of time to walk around and "get lost" in the trees. Pictures don't do this park justice.

Great altitudes, super large trees. But there are flying insects which can irritate you. General Sherman, the largest tree on earth is in this park. It is very huge. Moro Rock views are surreal!!!
