Fantastic views with balcony! Perfect location, short walk to the beach, Chowder Bowl, and Ripley's. The breakfast isn't too impressive but free food is always good, especially coffee. Rooms are well kept and clean, and the beds are very comfy! Love the pool too. The gym is literally three very very old pieces of equipment so I was a little bummed about that. We come to Newport every year and I think I will make sure I book at this hotel for years to come!

I've been going here for over 20 yrs. I love it. They saw they needed to make some changes/improvements and they did them. The place looks and feels good. I love the view and the closeness to the ocean. My children have always loved the pool, now the grandchildren do. We've watched the whales from our balcony many times. We'll be going back again this year.

I'm impressed. Beds are not amazing but they are decent. Amazing views, fantastic beach access. Decent rates. All day coffee and pop corn is great. Breakfast is typical, nothing great.

Love love love this place. Room was great with a wonderful ocean view with easy access to beach. Will definitely stay here again.

The Whaler motel was a great place for my parents to stay. They loved the room ocean view and the price was just a little cheaper than the surrounding hotels and bigger better room. The beds were so comfortable. The management was so nice the owner greeted us and then made sure the room was up to our standards. And it exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be returning. The pool and spa were so clean the temps were perfect.
