Worst Ever Car Rental Experience Of My Life!
Booked through Expedia, a 10-day rental of a mini-van for a family vacation.  When I arrived to pick up my car, I waited a very long time (the people in front of me were waiting on a car).. When it was my turn, They told me my requested Dodge Caravan was not available, and they would put me into a smaller comparable vehicle.  As I wanted a full-size mini-van, I was unhappy with my choices.  It turns out they had twelve total cars in their lot, and only one was a mini-van.  It was beat up, had 31,721 miles on it, the whole left side was badly repainted, the car had numerous large scratches and dings all over.  Trim pieces were missing.  The cloth seats were so dirty, my daughter remarked that it looked like they shot a porn movie inside the van.... The back luggage deck had all the paint rubbed off the bumper.  The car was a real eye-sore.  The unfriendly attendant told me he would gladly upgrade me to Tahoe for a big extra fee per day. I argued the upgrade should be free, and he said, "Man, you have two choices... take this minivan because it is what you reserved, or pay the upgrade fee for the Tahoe".  Some choice!  They argued the minivan met the requirements.  They were unfriendly about it. He said, If you don't like this, walk down to the other rental car counters and see if someone will make you a deal.  Fat chance at the last minute.  I had to accept the car.  Bad image for family vacation.  "Junker Car" my kids called it...
I had documented the damage to the vehicle before leaving the airport (shoddy hand-written notes on the contract jacket, signed by the attendant) See photo attached.
THIS IS THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER RENT FROM THRIFTY, their SISTER company DOLLAR, or their PARENT company HERTZ.  Poor service, poor selection, attitude problems, and poor cars that should have been retired long ago.  Pathetic Losers.  Good Bye Thrifty/Dollar and Hertz!

Thrifty definition: using money and other resources carefully and not wastefully. 

Thrifty wasted my time and money due to their inefficient, ineffective customer service!

To Thrifty, so you know...you have a rental location in Indianapolis, IN.  Your website and CS Agents don't seem to realize this.

We wish there was a ZERO star evaluation.  Stuck with hidden fees entered at last moment by the desk agent "Samir" despite specifically stating we did not want either refueling charges or added damage insurance.  We had purchased added car rental coverage via Expedia in advance and learned after picking up the car that the added damage coverage and refuel charges were tacked on by the Thrifty agent at the desk.  Samir also told us that 3rd party car insurance was always invalid at Thrifty and never to buy it again.  Customer "service" at Thrifty told us via phone that the local contract had to be enforced.  We can dispute the added fuel charges if we provide detailed receipts of having refueled within 5 miles of site - which we intend on doing.  In future we intend to drive a personal car instead of renting even if it takes the 77 hour round trip driving.  ... and we thought the era of rustlers and highwaymen had passed.
