I found a used Dodge Dakota online and called to make sure it was available, which it was, so I stopped by to take a look at it prior to doing so. I talked with a gentleman and asked what their process was. He said they buy them from auction and then put them through their shop doing a inspection replacing things as needed. But if something that was aware item had about 75% left of its life they would leave it. That all sounded pretty reasonable to me. So he handed me the keys and I went to inspect the truck. Keeping in mind the truck was a little bit older and had about 140,000 miles on it. I certainly was not expecting perfection. It became immediately obvious that somebody had done a bit of a sloppy rust repair on the rear quarter panels of the bed. It was obvious because there was over spray everywhere inside the fender on the tire a little bit on the rim and they missed a spot so you could see all the bondo. The next thing that became obvious was of the four doors. Only one of them actually worked with the remote. The locks themselves worked just the actuators apparently did not. The final thing was when I opened the hood and immediately saw a coolant leak actively dripping from a gnarly looking connection between a metal line. and a rubber hose. The truck has been running for maybe five minutes at that point. While I wasn't expecting perfection, after being told it has been inspected and run through their shop I did expect to find most things in working order. Finding those things in the first five minutes gave me zero confidence in the mechanical viability of that truck. When I went back inside and talked to the gentleman again he clearly cared not at all when I described what I saw. It was bright and shiny red. They were going someone wouldn't look so close. I won't go back and I could never recommend them to anyone.
I bought a hybrid 2020 Ford Fusion from Toro Auto in March this year. I had the car so far 8 months and I have already put about 30k miles on it with no issues at all. it was the easiest experience I had. The entire process was extremely streamlined. They did all the financing and registration right on the spot even with my limited credit. They had really fair prices and good I would definitely recommend anyone in the market for a used car to check them out.
Every negative review is correct. I don’t want to repeat what a lot of people already said. Only thing I wanted to add was if you do make the terrible decision buying a car here make sure you don’t use their financing. I believe they use Westlake. The dealer will scam you for higher rates to make up for the lack of warranties you don’t get scammed into. I do not recommend this dealership. I recommend going somewhere more reputable. Stay away from this place
Went to test drive a vehicle I was VERY interested in. Upon arrival I was given the keys to check it out and stated I'd like to test drive it. After waiting outside about 10 minutes I went back in to ask again for the plate. A different gentleman explained that they only do test drives for those who are "seriously" interested in the vehicle. I told him I was as I was looking to replace my current suv. He then asked how I planned to pay finance or cash, I said probably cash but I'd like to drive the car before talking about payment. He said "so if you drive the car and like it are you ready to put a down payment today?" I said forget it I'm not going too be PRESSURED into buying a vehicle! God forbid one would want to sleep on the decision of buying a vehicle! Maybe it was because I was a woman???? You don't think women buy cars on their own?? Place is a joke TERRIBLE customer service. Your loss because I was 90% sure on purchasing the vehicle before I even got there Update 9/1/2022 I just purchased an Armada Platinum so yes I was seriously interested in a new SUV I'm glad you refused to let me test drive your vehicle because I have a nicer vehicle now
They were very easy going guys no pressure everything went real smooth I drove from Middletown I highly recommend this place to buy a car here yes they are high mileage cars but prices are fair
Ive tried repeatedly to get a hold of someone to check out a few working trucks and pickup trucks. The one reply i got back was which one i was interested in. I told them and never heard back from them. Went last week to see what was available in person for my father's painting biz and while we did find good looking vehicles to purchase, not a single person came to help us to get info on the trucks. They just kept giving us funny looks so we left. Horrible customer service. Thank goodness they are not the only place on RT 5 that sell trucks/ suv.
I flew from Chicago just to buy this 2011 rouge SL , FULLY LOADED and rare trim of rouge. I drove back to chicago almost 1000 miles. I loved the car and the guys at Toro auto were amazing.
Would recommend toro auto to buy a good quality used car. They had everything from the financing to the registration & plates taken care of which made ot easy.
I have bought several vehicles from Toro. They have been honest, prompt, friendly with competitive pricing.
