Very frustrating when your site indicated that you open at 10am on Sunday and you do not actually open at that time. Needed a car due to an accident and had to wait even longer. Makes a difficult and frustrating situation even worse.

I would give less than 0 stars if I could...I rented a round-trip car at RDU for five days at 29.95/day, something came up and had to change plans mid week, so I called the wonderful people at the Smith Reynolds Avis who told me that I could change to a one-way and drop off there.  It would cost me an extra 40 bucks, he said, but the overall charge for the week was still less than 200.  I show up at the location - which is a total ghost town - and give the surly little guy at the counter my keys as he is closing up.  He insists that he will email me the receipt in the morning.  Lo and behold, the receipt doesn't show up for several days, but when it does, it bears a price tag approaching 400 dollars.  The kind people with Avis' customer service refuse to examine the charge, the bozo at the counter "can't remember" the rental, and I am out 200 dollars for no reason.  I

I will hitchhike before renting a car from Avis again and I recommend you do the same.

I have always had great service at this Avis location. Employees are very friendly and always find a way to get the vehicle and price I need.
