Please be careful renting from these people. I had made a very specific reservation to assure I was in my travel budget. However, I ended up being upgraded. So I had to pay 50.00 + more dollars. My reservation had calculated taxes and fees(so I had a clear expectation) I was then blamed for an upgrade that I had NOT requested. I realize it was in the contract I signed... Which I had assumed reflected my reservation. I see many similar reviews regarding this practice. I was told by a nice lady she would speak to her boss and see about a refund. That was Dec. 12 and I received no refund. I have set up a account with another car rental company that has been very honest with me and actually allow me to bypass even having to go to the front desk. This has been working out well. I am guessing the staff at this airport may get a kickback for upgrades......Blessings

Rented a car through a booking site for 15 dollars a day. I realize there are fees and other charges that come along with renting a car so I knew it would be more expensive than that per day. The woman at the front desk asked me what kind of insurance I would need. (Didn’t ask me if I had my own.. which made me feel like she was trying to pull one over on me) I told her I had my own. She asked me “so just the minimum?” I told her again that I had my own insurance that covered rentals so I just need the fee to be able to take the car... Original price for 4 Days, $125 after the unnecessary insurance she sold me, $309. I am extremely disappointed and angry in the customer service. I feel like, as a person who works with the public, you should always make it clear what you’re purchasing and not sell unnecessary items. Be careful what you sign for at this location.

*Please read* I rented a vehicle at a non-airport location in Columbia MO, because I thought the cost would be the same as the shuttle, but would grant me more freedom with my time that day. After my rental, I was offered a curb-side return service via e-mail. I was running late, so I accepted. Without giving the agonizing details, I'll say that this location had barely heard of this service I'd paid $25 for, but one of their lot agents eventually was rounded up to drop me off, which he did. That's when the trouble started. They failed to process my return for 5 days, which eventually led to the correct charge of $53.76 increasing to $340.58. Dealing with Avis as a national company was a ridiculous experience, but I had no choice, because it was nearly impossible to reach the location, which is a franchise. I spent several hours on the phone on multiple occasions, and more time still sending e-mails to various agents who would reply to the first inquiry, then go silent once I explained the situation. If you initiate an investigation into erroneous charges, national will handle it, but Avis locations are franchises, so the people conducting the investigation don't have access to all of each location's information. This maddening process went on for two months before being resolved. Two months later, however, AFTER, the situation was resolved in my favor, a bookkeeping error sent my account to Avis collections for the originally disputed charges. I called collections, who told me Avis had made a mistake in clearing my account. When I then called Avis I was told to again contact collections...they are completely internally disorganized. Obviously, part of the problem was Avis, not simply this franchise. However, the location A) had no idea what an amenity I was offered (Curbside Drop-off) was, B) failed to check my one-day rental in until 5 days afterward, and C) failed to return any phone call or e-mails. They created a giant pain in the rear for me, did nothing to help, and made no effort to apologize.

I had an Awesome rental experience at Avis while visiting Kansas City International Airport. Great customer service, Awesome rental car, and all around smooth process from start to finish. Thank You Avis!

I booked a car for work Travel in Missouri Avis as a Company would get 3 Stars for their Customer Service center taking care of my problem but the Actual location is Terrible. Not only is the staff their unprofessional when there was a line of people and only one representative actually helping while 3 others stood up front talking about how they are off. If you are Off work don't stand around the registers because people will assume you just aren't doing anything and ignoring the 5 or 6 people in line. The vehicle I originally booked wasn't available for some reason guess reserving a car doesn't mean anything anymore. I was offered a different 4 door and wasn't told their would be additional charges of almost $100 a day. When I dispute the charges all I get is "Why did you take the car then?" Seriously going to question the customer after you had already messed up by not having the car I had booked? I took the car because that is what you offered me and I had to get going I wasn't going to wait around all day in the hopes of a different car showing up later in the day that is why I BOOKED it in the first place. My Company and myself will definitely reconsider renting from Avis
