Fast service and clean car. It did have a strong smell of an air freshener. Drove well and was an easy transaction.

My friends prepaid for a rental car weeks in advance for their trip to visit us from Hawaii. After their 10 hours of flying and transfers, they arrived only to be denied their vehicle at Avis leaving them stranded an ocean away from home and a six hour drive from us. They claimed they needed to run their card again for whatever reason and the Avis card scanner at the location was not working at the time. They said there was nothing they could do about it, even when they called the Avis customer service lines. Which when they asked to speak to a supervisor were simply passed around to other non-supervisors. My friends spent 2 hours trying to work past a simple issue that Avis was responsible for.
Shady, disrespectful, rude.

Rented here once- car was dirty but the price was right so whatever. Dropped it off on the agreed date (no specific time), all good. Rented here again, when asked when I would return it, I said "sometime Saturday" and the lady said nothing, gave me the spiel before I signed next to the x's and i was out. Went to return the car before closing on Saturday and was charged an extra day for not having it back by the exact time of morning that I rented it!! Then he showed me that I had indeed initialed next to it, but if that is your policy, which is not the policy of all rental places, you need to read that in the little spiel about all of the other possible charges that I can receive, ESPECIALLY if I said "sometime Saturday" and she quoted me a price!!
Not only that, but the man started giving me all these stupid excuses ("we're not 24 hours"- I know that's why I brought the car back before closing), but when he said "you've rented with us plenty of times in the past, you know the rules" I WENT OFF!! He said all he gets are threats (to give him negative reviews and not rent from here again)- then run your company better!! Dont be rude and train your staff to say more than "what do you want" and read half a disclaimer. Plus, you have to wait forever bc they're understaffed, and the extra taxes/fees were not included in her initial quote, so it would have cost me more than she told me anyway. After reading their reviews, I think they don't make it clear on purpose so that they can sneak it past people, charge extra, and then say, you should have read your contract!! They got me legally, but I still say they're theives!! All the long, detailed reviews can't be wrong!!

Car reserved one and it still took 2 hours to rent a car. Their system went down checking out the car and the next day when I returned the car their system was still down.

Dont ever book a rental @ this small location. Arrived promtly to p/u rental just to be told to go out to Sac Airport due to NO vehicles being available. Avis rep Berlinda was unhelpful and unwilling to remedy the inconvienance. I will never book with Avis again.
