It is terrible service , so mess up, it is still under investigation. I rented car on June 18 2017 and retuned June 26 2027 earlier morning  @1:20am and dropped key in box, All are at same location. I called them office time @11:00 am, the guy told me everything is ok and no need goto office. But one day later my billing showed a extra $200 charge.  Customers service told me because It showed i returned car in different location (DC airport), and they promised to fix it.  The next day my billing showed they just added original price , right now plus old price, that is total over $400 extra charge. I called them back agin, they said they willl investigate . Several days passed, no any process, I went to local office yesterday (July 5 2017.) There is no detail information of my rental on their computer,  they cannot figure out what happened . At last I had to show a picture I took when I returned the car which have location and time , The guy admitted it was wrong , but still he cannot fix it ,I need call customer service , I got customer service reply they will investigate it . What a heck !!!

very disappointed from the moment i walked in the door & how unprofessional the office and staff appearance was, although initially they were very friendly.
I reserved a Compact car online, when i checked in they said they had an Economy car for me.  I showed them my paperwork and they stated you are right you have a Compact car.  They brought out a 2 door blue VW Bug.   I told them that is not a Compact car.  They assured me "Economy and Compact are interchangeable" (the same). 
Stating this was all they had, i needed to take this car.  They lied - Economy & Compact are NOT interchangeable.  I would never rent from this Budget office again.
I did manage to switch cars at the Asheville, NC airport with a woman who was busy straightening and spraying her hair when i walked up and was not very friendly, although dressed very professionally.  She reluctantly exchanged vehicles for me to a REAL Compact car.  Although she pointed out on the reservation it lists a VW as a "Compact car"  I am certain the Durham people tweaked the system to make that happen.  I followed up with Budget and was told a VW Bug is definitely an Economy car and that a Compact car is different in size, number of people it can carry and amount of luggage it can store.  Durham Budget is definitely not worth going to/renting from.

This particular location, Northgate Mall/Guess Road always overbooks so please beware! Confirmed reservations mean nothing at this place. If they only have 10 cars available they will allow 20 reservations to be made leaving customers stranded! And the manager Matt is just horrible

Made reservation--no record, no car, no responsibility at appointed pick-up time. And no customer service. Unbelievable.
