We have come to Compass Cove twice and love it! We drive all the way from New York, non stop. We are coming down again this year and bringing our in laws! The kids love the lazy rivers, but what we like most is the Ocean! I do not get why people complain about the rooms being dated and what not. 99% of the time we are out enjoying what Myrtle Beach has to offer!

This was our 3rd time staying at Compass Cove, and we drove 17 hours from Northern Michigan for our family vacation. We received an email regarding check-in, stating that the room would be available as early as possible but NO LATER THAN 3PM. When we arrived at 3 for check-in, we were told that our room was not ready and that they would call us as soon as it came available. We did not get the call until 5pm, and the front desk was unapologetic, stating that “if we read the fine print” on their website we would know that check-in time is not guaranteed. We were exhausted from our drive and needed showers before our dinner reservations, but housekeeping had not left any towels in our room, as well as other basic toiletries and necessities for our kitchen unit. We called the front desk to request towels, but after waiting for an hour for them to arrive, we ultimately left for dinner without receiving them. Upon our return, there was a garbage bag outside of our room that was filled with 6 hand towels and 8 wash cloths. We got our family ready for swimming, and went down to enjoy the indoor lazy rivers, which was the reason we have visited this resort before, and why we came again. We had previously enjoyed and appreciated all of the indoor water amenities and this was the factor that kept us coming back. Once down at the pool, we had several other guests immediately notifying us that the indoor pools and lazy rivers were closing the next day, and would be closed for the entire duration of our stay. They were being closed for painting and other repairs, but we were never notified by the hotel prior to this, even though we had booked 5 months in advance, and the front desk had not informed us upon our arrival. We were so unbelievably disappointed, and went to the front desk to express our dissatisfaction. The front desk staff was again unapologetic, telling us that they were not even informed until one day prior, so they couldn’t have notified us in advance. When I asked to speak to a manager, they told me the manager was too busy dealing with other issues, and I would need to come back when they were less busy. I did come back the next day, and the staff then told me that at least we still had use of the outdoor pools, and offered nothing more. The outdoor pools fall into shade by 4:30-5pm, and are too cold to use after that during this time of year. We did not see a single person using them after this point, and reasonably so considering the temperature. I again asked to speak to a manager and again was told I would need to come back. I asked them if a manager could call me, and they took down my phone number and said they would have someone call as soon as they were available. That was 5 days ago and I’m still waiting for that call. The most upsetting part is the lack of compassion from the staff. We left there feeling unimportant, like our feelings had no value, like we didn’t matter. This is not the level of hospitality in which we have come to expect from Compass Cove, and we will not likely visit them again.

Family oriented resort with three different buildings to stay in. Lots of water features, activities and on site eateries. Airport shuttle makes getting here easy and staff is friendly. Liked our hotel style room as it was oceanfront and lots of elevators made it easy to get around. Too many non-resort people on property and no real response from staff when alerted. Can be noisy and raucous but it's super fun.

Nice rooms and location but had to call to get room cleaned, they only came twice in 7 days. Had to call to get toilet paper, had to call for clean towels. Then they asked for a tip from good service?! Front desk associates not trained and lacked customer service. 3 problems before I even checked in (due to rooms not being cleaned). The amenities are there but not maintained well. Zero towels for the pool and hot tubs, but that's only if you want to swim with things floating around. The staff walk with purpose but seems nothing gets done.

I've stayed here a few months ago with my husband and we loved it. Decided to come back next weekend with our kids. I paid my deposit and received the confirmation email which at the time didn't look right (it said I owed over $400 which i knew i only owed a little less than $200) but I paid it no mind. Received another email today saying the same thing. I called today and spoke with Ms. Barbara Randolph ( I hope i got her name right). She confirmed what i owed (less than $200) and told me the email shows the price minus the promotional offer which is why it said I owed the higher price. She then took the time to ask me a few questions and found me a better rate (over $100 less than what I was going to pay) and then explained why paying the extra 40 for the accidental coverage would be better than having the $100 security deposit hold on my card so I agreed to pay for that. After this call and my last visit, I can't wait to come next weekend. This resort has always been overly friendly and it is much appreciated.
