We love this place. We get great deals on rooms in the off season. The view from our private balcony is awesome (photo). The anemities are good. Easy access to the beach. Pet friendly, but you'd never know it. We've stayed here 3 times and we see the dogs, but never hear them. Downside - no breakfast offered in hotel. But there is a great breakfast place like a block down, across the street.

Awesome place to stay. I arrived with no reservations during the busy season, they made a place for me and made me feel right at home. Great southern hospitality from ALL the staff. PET FRIENDLY is an understatement. Cheryl was there to greet  me and my best buddy Harley with treats while Ebony checked us in. They only had a room for 1 night when I was wanting to stay 2. She called me immediately they had a cancellation. Unfortunately I was unable to stay the 2nd night  because my dad who has cancer was admitted to the hospital so I unfortunately had to go back to my other home. Yes, my other home. Ocean Parks Resort is now considered my other home away home from now until God calls my number. I'll make sure to make my reservations early as possible from now on. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GIVE THIS PLACE A VISIT and see for yourself. I'm very thankful to all the staff for there kindness and help and kudos to the owner for all he has put in this place to make it a restful and extremely awesome place to stay. 5 star place to stay. Rooms 722 & 724 (May 4-6)

GOOD:
The size of the room and the bathroom were comparable to other hotels, and the view from the balcony was lovely.  My suite 724 afforded a coffee pot and mini-fridge.  However, there were no coffee cups in my suite, so therefore, I did not use the coffee pot.  The staff members that we spoke with were friendly.

NOT SO GOOD:
As a pet friendly hotel, I recommend not having carpets in the suites.  The carpets were worn, stained, and generally unclean.  We were hesitant to walk in our suites bare-footed.  The beds in my suite both had stains on the bed skirts, which may or may not have been dog urine.  As a dog-friendly hotel the rooms afforded very strong odors of dog.  And, we did not have dogs with us.  

The first morning, housekeeping took our damp towels, but never returned with fresh towels.  I asked for fresh towels at the front desk, and had to give our room numbers in order to acquire them.  Only three of the four beds used were made up the first morning.  The carpets were not vacuumed at all during our stay, and nor was the tile floor swept at any time during our two nights and three days.  I'm not entirely confident in stating that the floors were vacuumed or swept prior to our arrival.

Additionally, the popcorn ceilings in both suites were peeling above the balconies.  The toilet in my suite was in need of a good scrubbing around the rim, but otherwise was tidy.

This hotel has the potential to be very nice with much better housekeeping.  The carpets need scrubbed and/or replaced.  The couch in my friends' suite had an overwhelming odor of dog and was unpleasant to sit on.  We kept our balcony doors open when we were in the rooms to air out the strong smells.  

The rooms that we stayed in looked nothing like the rooms that were advertised on the website. Perhaps the other rooms are different, but we definitely did not arrive at the rooms that we were expecting.  

OTHER: 
The indoor pool amenities were under construction and unavailable.  The outdoor pool was clean and there appeared to be plenty of chairs for the guests.  The hot tub was a nice temperature and again plenty of seating was available for guests.  There was a nice deck with several lounge chairs available for sunbathers.  There was dog feces on the deck, which I assume the dog owner should have been responsible for cleaning up and hadn't.  For the most part, the outdoor accommodations were lovely.  Just be careful where you step.

Currently staying here. Room smells horrible (dog pee) and visible urine spots all over the floor. We do have our dog with us but he does not use the potty inside so this is quite disgusting to us. On top of that, water in shower backs up. Called front desk and was told there is nothing they could so about it until next day so none of us got a shower after being on the beach. Tub did eventually drain overnight. Also, this is suppose to be a nonsmoking resort but people are constantly smoking. Way too overpriced!!

EDIT: We did request a different room upon entering but was told there was absolutely no other rooms available however the sign out front claimed vacancies. Also asked at that point if we could cancel our weekend that we had prepaid for, to which we were told no and we would have to speak to a manager who also was not there. 

To the owner who responded, I do feel that pulling carpet and using a different flooring that is easier to clean after each booking would be quite beneficial. I actually recommended that to the front desk and was not told that you guys were in the process of doing that so hopefully you are. That would greatly help, I believe. Thank you for your response.

We had a great vacation with family. But the room was nothing like the pictures on the website. They were 5 older ladies with one disabled lady. We had a Murphy bed that was about 5 inches off the floor, dining table with loose legs on it. The dining chair seats were just laying on the chairs. The refrigerator was to big for the space and you couldn't close the door to the one bedroom. Will not recommend this resort.
