Our "Go to" spot for relaxation! We have been camping here for several years. The sites are all (for the most part) well shaded with mature trees, and level. There are dumpsters on site, but the staff WILL pick up bags of trash if you leave them by the road at your site. No cable and spotty internet, but we don't go camping to watch tv or surf the web. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Not much in the way of a store but we stock well before leaving home, so again..no issue. There are stores within 5 miles if needed. Someone mentioned being disappointed when trying to cancel a reservation. Cancellation policy is posted on the website as no refund if cancelled less than 48 hours prior to expected arrival, and this is pretty standard at most campgrounds in the area. We camp here several times every year and have no complaints!

Decided to do something a little different to round out our season of camping so after being told about this place from a friend, we decided to book a 4 day stay. We arrived late but there was someone to get us checked in & directed to our site. It is very dark back in the campground area, so it was much appreciated. The sites are huge & roomy & even though the place was booked for the weekend, we in no way felt "crowded". People follow quiet time hours & really, the most noise I heard was leaves falling! We did the caverns tour first thing Thursday morning & we were the only 2, so it was like a private tour. The tour guide is Dave or as he's known around the camp, "Dave from the Cave". He has a true passion for caves & has much knowledge about the caverns. He also knows just when to throw in some humor, which made the tour refreshing. The caverns itself are COLD! 55 degrees at best...BRING A JACKET! The tour lasted just about an hour, which wasn't bad at all. Neat little music & light show at the end which was nice too. As for the actual campground, here's a few things you probably would like to know: there is NO cable. There are a few channels you can get, at best. There is also NO WI-FI. The bath houses are clean. There are several showers, toilets & sinks in each. Laundry facilities on the property are also a help too. Most sites have some shade aspect to them, & all sites are gravel & mostly level. There are 2 dumpsters on site for your trash disposal as they do not come around & pick it up from each site. The staff was friendly & helpful. Lodge is stocked with items one might forget, along with souvenirs. There is a small town up the street with little stores for a rainy day, other caverns in the area to tour & of course, Skyline Drive. Other than that, not much in the way of nearby activities. Pool was closed because it was October, but I'm sure in the summer, it's pretty nice. If you are looking for hustle & bustle, this place is not for you. However, if you want to relax, then make the trip.

Very taxing on our RV but well worth the extra gas, and money spent on admission. With the caverns on site it saved us from having to use our scooter to do activities as such. Camp ground was very well maintained, with rocks and gravel sites to make it level and more pleasing on the eye's. The staff were friendly and insightful, thank you "Dave from the cave" for our cavern tour. Most or all sites were full hookup. They also had many trails for hiking. Though a little taxing due to up hill, coming back down was wonderful. We saw many wildlife while staying in what I thought was a high traffic of the camp. The area where we stayed was a little far from dumpster and bathrooms, but did not take away from our experience. We didn't get a chance to hike all the way up to the Hollywood style sign, but would suggest doing so by the advice given by locals.

Love this place! Well maintained, well landscaped, nice size level lots. Lots of places to walk and the staff is very friendly. The only downside is they have no cable and with the trees it's hard to get channels on the air attenna. If you have satellite, there are a few open sites where you have a better site line, but I don't know if you can actually get a signal. Will definitely come here again.

First off, we love this campground. We have been here 4 times this year and are making our final camping trip for the season here, in Nov. We have a 43 ft 5th wheel and do not have any problems navigating the campground. There are some areas of the camp ground that are a little steep but they have it clearly marked....certain areas you will need 4 wheel drive. We choose not to go up in to those areas. The sites are huge and level. Heck, the site we had Labor Day weekend was so big you could have had a second trailer in with us. The staff is always more then accommodating, even after hours. They are always friendly and welcoming. We have a black lab, and there are plenty of trails to walk on, as well as tons of space for him to run around (he loves swimming in their pond). Some comment on no cable, and poor reception. My response is you don't camp and get out in the woods to watch tv (although you can get a few channels to fall sleep to if you need). I'm sure you can check in with the daily grind on your phone, or run into town. The one comment was about not exiting under the arch, and I haven't yet! :) It's not something I want to chance, so we just go up the hill and come back down. All in all it's a wonderful place and we consider this our go campground when we want to get away!
