So we rented a car for Thursday through Sunday - booked it online, and picked it up on Thursday as planned. 

When we went to drop it off Sunday - this sign was posted on the door. We CANNOT just "keep the vehicle until Monday" - we fly out of Boston Logan airport on Sunday. So now I have to accept responsibility for damages?! I did NOT agree to this, nor was I given any kind of notice. Absolutely unacceptable, Hertz.

Edit to add: I am currently here to drop off my car, which is currently due back in 15 minutes. If I try to return it to another location, there's a $10 fee, AND likely a late return fee as I won't be able to get to one in the next 15 minutes. But if I leave it here, I'll be liable for any damages?! 

Won't ever be renting from this Hertz again!

Beware of this "business" location. Especially the after hours drop off. 
To start they do not provide a clean vehicle (outside was covered in dust/dirt/road grime - inside smelled grungy and moldy, windshield and windows were covered in nasty film, and seats were covered in dust)
Second: they add on absurd charges a week or more after your drop off without notifying you. 
After calling to dispute the charges they say "oh it turns out you are right and we should not have charged you for the gas and we will check and call you back about the cleaning fee. Wait two days, no call back from them so i call and they say "oh yea we credited your account the gas fee but we cant for the cleaning / smoking charge, you will have to speak with xyz who is not here right now."
The car was in the same condition as we received it if not better ( i had to clean the shifter/steering wheel and window area it was soo gross) - we barely drove their garbage can as it was a disgust! I have called 3 times to speak with the person who can remove the charge, he is coincidentally never in the office, nor returns my calls. 
I called my credit card company to dispute the charges, and it turns out they never even refunded the gas charge! No surprise, shady from the start, unprofessional sub par quality services and goods. 
Stay away from this place - and if you do have no choice but to work with them - make sure you use a credit card that has a good dispute / fraud team on your side in case they try to pull something like this on you.

UPDATE: they removed the charge and resolved the issue (after several calls on my part)

Extremely poor customer service. We had a reservation and they said they didn't have any cars to honor our reservation even though we arrived right as they opened and the lot was full.

Go to Enterprise River Street instead - they have great customer service

The assistant there was very friendly and helpful. Everything was great except that the car was not as good as the one I rent in Chicago couple of weeks ago.
