I've read the reviews on here and just don't understand what these people are saying. Did they read the contract they signed? Were they mean or demeaning to the employees? Did they not pay online when reserving the car (before showing up)?

Since I moved to TN, I rent from Payless every time I return to CO. Payless always has the best price. The people have always been nice to me, and I've always been nice to them. I bring proof of insurance. I read the contract. I pay when booking online. I always get a good quality car that is in good condition. In fact, the last car I got (which I dropped off just this morning) was nicer and had more options than my personal car. 

Since the prices are so low compared with other options, I imagine they tend to attract a type of person that may expect to be coddled without paying for it. If you expect top tier ass kissing, go for Enterprise or one of those other placed down the street. If you are a real person who enjoys interacting with other real people in a kind and respectful manner, then Payless is just fine.

I was just reading some of the reviews on here and this is the exact thing that they did to me. It was very late and the man said oh let me upgrade you for 50.00 . The upgrade was because the car was just a little bigger for a small child in the back. We completely thought it was for the week and would of never agreed to a daily rate of 50.00 more a day .It was a bad condition impala.They really got one over on us . I consider myself pretty smart ,work as an Er nurse and can't believe it. I would just like to warn people to question any upgrade charge and completely look over your contract . Many reviews say the same happened to them there .

Got there and my total was about $90. I upgraded to something a little bigger and she told me how much TOTAL it would be...that is including the deposit. My total came out to be just a little under $500. I was cool with that because I know I was there for 5 days and the deposit would be half of that. I got insurance and decided to bring it back with whatever gas was in it. I recently checked my account and seen that they charged me the full amount. WHY? I have no clue. The car was cleaner then when I picked it up. It smelled better because wen I got it, it smelled like weed and there were Monster Energy drink cans underneath the driver and passenger seat. 
So my experience with them is horrible and I would like to get my deposit back at least for a trash a** car. They WILL NOT be getting my money ever again!

Airport Pick up:
The sweet & sour of the Car Rentals. In customer service, it’s simply a lottery of good luck. 

This time around Feb 2018 I got the shittiest bad attitude imbecile at the rental counter. In 2016 I had a great gentleman at the same counter. So in this location, you never know!

Buses are old, rental lobby is basically from the 80s. 

Return:
@7:40 am there were two customer service agents at the counter (9 Terminals) and some waiting. 

Payless seems to have an option for prepaid gas. I do not feel is a service or option  I can trust from any car rental company period. Payless is also very legacy in their systems so do not expect great technology for processing.

Review your bill with much attention to extra fees. Payless loves to leave the PrePaid Gas tank charges on the bill even when tank is returned full.

If you are alert and can ignore the occasional bad attitude, Payless can be descent value!

Booked an SUV for three days at a time like cost of $80. When we got their we we're asked if we wanted to upgrade for $25 so we agreed. We were then charged $25 per day. We were told that we could bring the vehicle back with low fuel and be charged $1.93 per gallon. We acknowledged the information and were then charged $36.65 for the full tank of gas. When we got the vehicle it wreaked of marijuana and the interior was not clean at all. I have rented many cars and have never been swindled like this before. Instead of $80 we ended up paying $220.50. We will never rent from Payless again and will make sure none of our friends and family do either.
