The prices you can rent a car for are as thrifty as the name suggests, but there's a caveat. ***Renter beware. We went through Thrifty, but this is common with almost all car rentals. The agent will begin in a very friendly and helpful manner. As always, that's part of the ploy. Soon they will make it seem essential that you pay double the price you saw online for guarantees on the car, yourself, and/or your belongings. The person "helping" you is not just an agent they are high pressure sales. Know what your own insurance has to offer and do not be coerced. Despite the exaggerated warnings of danger they produce you're probably well covered by your insurance and don't need to pay potentially hundreds more than the online price. Especially when they know you're from out of state they tell you about the laws from Washington that will drain your bank account and leave you destitute. Every state has costly laws. So in advance of getting in a car you should pay for the rental company's "protection"? Don't fall for this "mob-like" tactic. Be prepared to say no and watch how quickly they shew you away.

The poor customers in front of me signed up because they assumed they had to. They walked away from the counter dazed, discussing how $120 turned into well over $300 for their rental agreement after talking to the agent for 3 minutes. It's a terrible choice when you're strong-armed into it.

I used my Airline points to get a vehicle from Thrifty.  Check-in was quick and streamline.  The SUV was clean and drove nicely.  We were checked out before I even had all of our bags out of the vehicle.  I would recommend and use Thrifty again.

As described by other reviewers, the rental agent comes on with a hard sell about "loss of use" insurance. This is insurance that covers the cost of loss of use of the car to the rental company if you have an accident while it is being fixed. This was going to be $28.95 per day which easily doubled the car rental cost. My insurance company would not cover this, but, the credit card I used to pay for the rental would cover it. Check with your credit card company and ask if they cover 'loss of use". Also, I wanted to put my wife on the rental also. That was going to be an additional $14 per day. Really, for my wife? The car itself was OK but I would not rent there again due to these high pressure tactics.

Amazing prize and got a better car than ordered. Know what your insurance covers, and you will be fine :)
