I've rented from Hertz several times and from different locations.  Hertz in Bloomington is outstanding.  They are friendly and courteous but never more so then when my daughter and husband with young kiddos in tow we're left stranded with no vehicle (albeit reserved 2 months prior) by Budget Car Rental in Bloomington  on Christmas Eve.  I can't thank them enough for maintaining a fleet of clean safe vehicles that have always met or exceeded the number of reservations and our expectations.

 (I was informed by Budget Car Rental that "just because you reserve a vehicle doesn't mean you'll get a vehicle, we always overbook...so we're always stranding someone". )

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Extremely unprofessional.

The individuals behind the counter, including the branch manager, are extremely unprofessional, unethical and unpleasant.
 We were told that our car will be hit by a Penske truck, if we left it on the branch premises. There are no warnings or posts that a the customer could not drop off their personal car when the pick the rental. Unfortunately, I was out of town which obligated my wife with no other choice but to leave the car in the parking lot. When we came back to pick our car up and return the rental, our car was not hit, but it was blocked by rental cars.  We have pictures (when and where we parked the car and what it looked like when when came to pick it up) to show.  We could not access our car for two days.  Attempted to return the rental car on Saturday, but I could not do that, and rather had to pick it up a Monday morning, because my personal car that I needed to drive home was blocked by the Hertz cars from every direction  (EVEN FROM BEHIND).  When we ran the problem by the staff, they said: " well!? We warned you".  We asked for a refund for Saturday and Sunday, but the branch manager refused to even refund.

I was made to pay for a rental I had to return less than two hours after picking it up due to the discovery that our family cat had died suddenly. Also, as a frequent customer (renting 3-4 times a year) I was never given any discounts or preference when choosing a vehicle. The most recent rental ended with a surprise $24.00 service fee on my credit card bill for paying a toll I knew nothing about and then passing e toll fee along to me.

We rented a car here after an accident. It was fully covered by the other party. We returned the car 6 days ago, which was a day earlier than anticipated. Erin the girl we rented from wasn't in. Bruce was. He processed everything and we left. Today, again 6 days after the vehicle was dropped, I was balancing our account and noticed they had charged us $85. We called, Bruce responded in an extremely unprofessional manner and pushed us off to customer service. Speaking to the representative he told us Bruce had in fact processed our return YESTERDAY and we were billed for those days. If anyone but ERIN takes care of you here watch everything closely! Bruce has no clue what he is doing.

I get there after doing my rental online, and the lady says they don't accept debit/credit cards??? Why is that not stated when the reservation is done? I told Hot wire to ditch them! Horrible way to do service.. so if you don't have a credit card don't bother with hertz... even if you do.. Enterprise is better!!!
