My plane arrived late. Upon arriving at the Rental Center at the Airport is was approximately 11:30 PM. Despite having a reservation for a "Standard" vehicle, there were no vehicles available. The attendant told me and another guest to simply wait. Twenty to thirty minutes later, now close to midnight compact vehicles were brought over, still wet, from being washed. No effort was made to offer a "standard" vehicle in the next tier level. I am Emerald NOT VIP, so no offer or effort was made to adjust or discount a VIP vehicle as a customer service. 
With an unrelated insurance loss my son had several months ago the rental agency did not have vehicles in the class he was looking at, only vehicles in an upgraded class. Hertz provided the upgraded vehicle at the lower grade rental rate per day so he did not have to wait. 
I guess next month and future rentals will consider an alternate vendor who does not want to make customers wait at midnight to get a car, despite a reservation.

Emerald Club is great. Many nice vehicles to choose from and you are out of the airport fast. Couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was. Vehicle return was run efficiently too. We returned at Phoenix on a Sunday afternoon with dozens of others coming in at the same time and they were ready for all of us. There was a long line for the shuttle back to the airport but buses were available and the wait was less than 10 minutes. Great experience all around.

I use the Emerald Aisle feature wherever it is offered. Absolutely no waiting, no up-sell pressure, just pick out your car and go. Very easy to return your vehicle as well. A nice variety of cars to choose from, always clean and in good condition. The staff has always been great,  but there's not much interaction because of the streamlined process. Only reason not a 5-star rating is you will pay more than the lowest price available for a given time and location - but you will also avoid a potential hour-long wait and sign-in process - worth the extra expense to me.

I truly believe that National rental is a very good company to rent with. My experience has been good so far. The only problem is, it is very hard to get a free upgrade. I am an executive Elite member and have rent for more than 200 days within the last 8 months. Beside that, Sometimes the cars are very poorly or not cleaned at all. And for fact I have heard the same comment from others colleagues. Hopefully, they will take this into consideration

I used National for a business trip and i cant tell you how quick and fluent the process was with them. They also have a great selection! I have never heard of them and honestly i dont know why i picked them but it was a great decision! I was discussing with other peers i work with what cars and were driving and what service they used and many of them complained about other services and how long it took. Anyone that ended up using National kept saying how easy it was. Even when i returned the car. Business or not if i need a rental car i will be looking for national. Great customer service!
