It was so hot! I mean 110+ °f. Don't come to this campsite during the summer unless you want to feel the burn or be in freezing American river the whole trip. I think this campsite would be much better if come during early spring or late fall. Don't make the same mistake I did. My truck thermometer was saying it got up to 118 the one day we stayed here.

Dangerous road getting down to the campground. Two and a half miles of bumpy dirt road to get down the mountain. Only Five campsites. Pretty spot, but won't go back again, road was scary!

I'll never return to this campsite while Guy Chrisos is on duty! I had never been here before but I didn’t expect to be disrespected, harassed & ticketed $150 within the first hour of meeting my friends here. He had all kinds of lewd names for the men we were with, he ogled another female friend & I while scolding us for several other outrageous claims about noise levels and how he was doing me a favor by marking as an infraction yet he couldn’t answer simple questions about where it was posted that glassware was a fine-able offense. The closest thing we found needed a magnifying glass to find & was incredibly vague "no glassware and alcohol in some parts of the park." Apparently being good citizens of Earth by pulling it out of the river is cause for a sizable fine. Another family up river left early too because he harassed them but NO ticket for the father visibly drinking out of a beer bottle – lucky me! Be aware that Ranger Chrisos only wants to write tickets to women to get close enough to talk to them and make them feel uncomfortable & never want to return again. Also be sure to drive all around the park checking signs so that you follow every rule while you are here or you may be ticketed with an infraction or misdemeanor depending on how he's feeling on that particular day. NEVER AGAIN!

Ranger CHRISOS is a real treat if you get to meet him! My family and friends have been coming here several times a year for many years....until the new face, Ranger CHRISOS showed up. He harassed each one of us 5 campers...individually. Not only once, but two different days. He couldn't take his eyes off the girls' bikini's, called my Mexican friend "the dark fellow", and my buddy that mentioned his un-needed aggressiveness, got the "the angry fellow" label...and he threatened to punch him in the throat if my buddy happened to be standing. Wow!. With his "Angry Ranger Farva" act and constant 'better than you' attitude, he held his cute little stun gun with his chest puffed out the whole time. He ticketed a lady friend that arrived an hour before him...for having a beer bottle she pulled from the river and not immediately registering. (She didn't know the rules about payments, and he wouldn't listen that she pulled the glass from the river bed...to throw in trash!) Beware of this ranger. He is a real A$$. I like all the other Rangers I've met through the years...they have always been fun and accommodating. We probably wont be back until I hear of the outcome of the complaint I am filing after this post. Right now, I recommend to stay away until he is re-assigned. Real angry JERK!!!
