Yesterday was complete chaos with the weather, and everyone at the airport was running around frantically, myself included. Cory (sp?) was the most helpful person I have ever worked with in car rentals. I called in first, and she was happy to help me escape the chaos of the airport, and when I found her in person, she remembered who I was, gave me a good deal given the sudden circumstances, and made sure I was covered and prepared to take on the roads. Given how many phone calls she was likely receiving in regards to tows and late returns, I was very impressed by her composure and ability to assist a last-minute customer.

The day was saved and I got to my destination safely. So thankful!

The woman who signed us in did a great job.  We were able to choose a make of car we thought would be most drivable and reliable -- a Toyota Corolla in this case.

She showed my partially tech savvy wife how to use their GPS which she had never used before AND that really helped.  It even rescued us when we made routing mistakes!

And, the check in was even easier and went well.

I WILL NEVER USE AVIS AGAIN!!!!! On Friday December 16, 2016 at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon I went to the aVIS counter at the Portland Airport to arrange for pickup of a car I had booked through Travelocity at Enterprise. I did not expect the ensuing fiasco.  First the rate of $80.32 (including taxes and fees) that I was quoted via Travelocity was not the cost the counter agent at Enterprise quoted me for taking a car one-way to Eugene, Oregon. The agent said it would be $184, over $100 more than I had booked via Travelocity!  This unexpected increase in price was an outrage!!!!  So I went over to the Avis counter only to be told by that agent that the cost would be around $165. Less but still a lot!!!  Feeling very disgruntled I went over to the National counter where I rented a much nicer vehicle also going to Eugene, Oregon for a mere $64!!!!  I REPEAT, I WILL NEVER USE AVIS AGAIN!!!!!

I prepaid my car.  When we landed at the airport, I saw my name and picked up my car and I was on the road within minutes of landing. No hassle, no problems. The car was clean and ready to go.  Returning the car was just as easy and picking it up.  We were on our way to the terminal within miutes of dropping off the car.  No hassle, no problems. There's a theme here as you can see.  No hassle, no problems.

This was the most amazing car rental experience I have ever had.  First off, I was given a Ford Escape instead of the economy car I had reserved.  Secondly, the staff were extremely helpful; the Portland airport location was amazing.  Picked up my car, had the bar code scanned at the gate after showing my ID, and I was out of the airport; 15 minutes max from the time I entered the Avis area.  On return, same experience.  Entered the gate and was in the terminal within 15 minutes, most of which was my time cleaning the car.  Couldn't be better.  Recommend Avis for value, service and location.  5 stars!
