Payless was not my initial choice .  I had reserved with a competitor for a mid-size car.  The car was too small.  Luckily, I remembered when I booked the car, it was only $2 per day additional for a Standard Size car.  ... WRONG.  I reserved on Payless, they had a brand new Malibu which fit all of our luggage.  The transaction was smooth and seemless.  But what made this a 5 star transaction was me leaving a hat and a book in the vehicle.  I received a call from lost & found asking if I had left it.  Then they assured me they would ship it, no cost to me....  What great service that is.  The book was new, the hat almost.  I assumed the worst....Dedicated fan now.

Payless is a scam!!!! I have never put a review out but this just blows my mind. 😡They asked if we wanted an upgrade or insurance and we declined. When given the contract to sign we questioned the 2 amounts that were not the amounts we had gotten with hotwire. They pointed out that we declined and that is the price if we had excepted additional services. Not to worry, all transactions are recorded.  Check my bank card and they charged us $160 more then what are reservation was for. The clerk and the person that we dropped the car off with both stated that we would need to submit a request for another department to listen to the recording at the counter and gladly refund our money. I submitted my request and 5 minutes later was denied my money back. I called in and was told they do not have recordings for payment matters. Both employees at 2 different times of the day said it would be cleared by another department who will listen to audio. SCAM......FRAUD. i am now going to be part of a class action lawsuit with hundreds of other people who have been scammed!!!!!!!!! Do not rent a car with them.

Worst service ever. We had a prepaid rental car that the brand new associate could not figure out how to push through the system. They ended up cancelling it (in front of us, we are literally still standing in the store) and telling us we had to pay 1.5x the price because they couldn't figure it out. Called corporate and the "supervisor" repeatedly told me there was nothing he could do (yeah right, clearly not a supervisor). We will now be calling corporate everyday until I can talk to an ACTUAL supervisor and get every penny back. We've now been standing in the store for over an hour, still no car, and still trying to charge us more. SAVE YOUR TIME, ENERGY AND MONEY. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. NO HELP, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

My first trip to Oregon will never be forgotten, thanks in good measure to Nate at Payless Car Rental. Nate greeted me, took the time to learn about my travel plans, and outfitted me with the perfect vehicle. Can't say enough about my experience. I'll be back, and you can bet that Payless Car Rental has found a new fan! Thanks Nate. Hope the holidays are good to you.

Nice people to deal with, reasonable prices. I had a Kia Soul and it was a great car. The only thing I would do differently next time is maybe rent the GPS. My phone GPS worked fine but having one attached to the dash would be better. Thanks, Payless! I will be seeing you again.
