May 17 - Booked a 7 seater online at a very competitive price but only later read the reviews.  We were naturally apprehensive when collecting the car but our experience was very good.  There were no other customers waiting and we were served immediately.  The car was roomier than expected and perfect for our group.  The only reason I have not given 5 stars is we were pressured to get a pass for the toll booths and I am glad that we did not bow to the pressure as the cost of the tolls was a fraction of the price of the pass.  I would recommend Dollar and I will use them again if they remain competitive.

I have rented here for years almost every week.  Since Hertz bought them the cost has more than tripled. The cars are by no means high end and for the cost I have decided to go where the value equals the price.  Also, as a loyal customer I never received any upgrades and in fact often did not get credit for the rentals i made. When I wrote as the wed site says to do I never heard back.  Sorry to say but after years I'm saying "see ya".

So expensive. Definitely no frills. Some of the staff are excellent, some want to be somewhere else.

Made a reservation for a compact over two months in advance, no car when I get to counter. Of course they have more expensive sun and luxury cars available. I was asked to.wait 15-20 minutes for a car to come in! Customer service not a concept anyone behind the counter is.familiar with. Kind of "it sucks to be you" additude. Just came off a 14 hour flight so imagine my frustration. I will not be using Dollar.again, did so to save a few bucks...I now understand why they have a little over two stars.

Where do I begin.  I could rant for hours but let me be brief. A horrible experience.  They cancelled my reservation because they gave all the cars to other people. They never bothered notifying me.  I was stranded at JFK after flying in from Florida and had the car reserved to drive to an appointment in CT and then on to Boston where my car drop off was scheduled. They were nasty at the front desk and told me to read the fine print of my reservation in which they have the right to cancel my reservation.  All the other rental car companies were sold out as well.  They ruined my entire weekend as I missed my appointment which had been scheduled for months.  I ended paying a ridiculous amount of money for a private driver to take me all the way to Boston.  Never again.
