Very disrespectful customer service reps. The people that work in the linden NJ office are horrible and then they don't want to help they direct you to call customer service who then talk to you any way they want and hang up on you . I'm filing a complaint with the BBB and discrimination charges. I've had enough

Their quotes are incredibly misleading as the actual price you get charged when you pick up is much higher. On top of that, the rep at the JFK airport added additional options/costs even though I specifically requested NO ADDITIONAL FEES and he did it anyhow (charged me for roadside assistance when I said no). When I tried to get this resolved through their main office, I was denied repeatedly a refund for the $42 charge. I will NEVER use this company again

I rented a car for one day from them. when i picked up the car, it was damaged. I went back into the office and noted the damages on the record before i took the vehicle off of the lot. Days after i returned the car, I was charged an additional $153. The car was returned with a full tank and in the exact same condition in which i rented it so there was absolutely no reason for me to be charged any fees in addition to my rental agreement. The next morning i called customer service to gain some insight, and the gentleman filed a claim. I asked why I was charged, he said that he was unable to see my billing info for security purposes. When i asked if there was a manager or someone else that I could speak to because it was unfair to me that they took my money for no reason and didn't even offer an explanation, he hung up on me! I would never rent from them again, nor would i recommend Payless Car rental to anyone unless you want to rent a damaged vehicle and have your money stollen with no explanation! UPDATE: After half an hour I received a response which included the rental agreement receipt which is totally inaccurate. The receipt alleges that I drove the vehicle 22,552 miles within a 24 hour period and states that the extra fees were for gas in spite of the fact that I returned the car with a full tank. It also included the wrong rental and return time. Looking forward to seeing how this all pans out... smh The link below provided by the owner leads to the same system on which i've filed 2 claims to no avail! I have instead filed a claim with my credit card company and was refunded the money that I never should've been charged. If you (Payless rental) really care about your customers, you need to improve the functionality of your customer service infrastructure. This issue could've easily been rectified had i been able to speak to someone who could view the actual rental record.

The worst rental car service in the entire universe. If you reserve a car at 8:00, expect to get your car at 10:00.
