I've been a Hertz Gold Member for over 25 years and when I called the Port Everglades Office direct to reserve a car they promised me an upgrade 'no problem'.  When I got there, the 'upgrade' wasn't available unless I wanted to pay almost double.

Forget about calling this location and expecting to hear from someone in a reasonable amount of time. Minutes long phone holds are common as well. Vehicles were the best part of the experience despite me having to return 2 for a battery and alignment issues. Plus the hangout at their "maintenance partner" for a tire plug I inherited. Long term leases fro this location are a no no.

This particular young gentlemen was rude and nonshalont attitude. He didn't answer the majority of my questions. " His response was I don't know" He never took the ignigcitve to find out any information. The car I was given looked as if someone just pulled duct tape off the car. The charging ports for cell phones or GPS didn't work. I called the corporate office the same day to report the problem. I spoke with a man name William or so called "William". William told me he was very sorry for the problem, but I did call the right department. He gave me his I.D# and told me to called back to the corporate office 24 hours after returning the car. I asked William do they check their vehicle before renting them to a new customer. I told him that this is very up setting to me I rented this car for one day. I rented the car to see a family member of mine. I haven't seen her in many of years. I was traveling with my young children. I feel it's imperative that I have a phone. I had to leave my family members early to be on the safe side while it was still light outside. So I returned the car back to the same location the next day. Again no improvement the same rude gentleman returning the car. I told him about the car charging outlet ports. He hunched his shoulder and said. You should have brought it back here we have many vehicle I could have put you in. I told him I called the corporate office and told them my problem. I wasn't anywhere close to this location. William never told me to take it to another location or offered me a new vehicle. I was told to call back 24 hours after returning the vehicle. The rude gentleman said OH Well. By this time Im trying to get Hertz rude employee out my face. This was Christmas Eve. I called 24 hours after returning the car Hertz did nothing bout my problem. This was a waste of money and time to be treated like this. I was told no one documented that I called. I filled out the survey I was sent and nothing happens from there. This is a horrible company and has horrible lying employee's.
