I recently flew home after receiving a call for a family emergency. In a rush I brought very little with me on my flight here, which included my bank card and one credit card as a back up. During my stay I had to change my return flight several times while I stayed with my mother in ICU. Sadly, she passed 2 days ago so I again pushed back my flight and was in need of a week long rental car. I contacted the Hertz office on Highland Rd in Waterford and was informed they do not accept any other forms of payment other than a major credit card. Since all of my flight delays cost a considerable amount of money, which I put on my credit card and left my bank account untouched, now is slightly shy of the rental amount for the week. Therefore they would not rent to me, not with any other forms of payment, which I gladly offered. Really did not need this headache when I can cover this expense several times over, easily, had they accepted my payment (Visa bank card, check or even cash with deposit and bank info). They lost my business. I moved on to a better and more accommodating and professional company, Enterprise. No problems at all with Enterprise and they'll even pick me up for free. Bye bye Hertz, you've just lost yourself a repeat customer. Get up to date, MOST customers use bank debit cards in today's world, wake up!

The service and attitude of the staff was fine, however our car smelled like an ashtray and was full of garbage leftover by the previous renter. Requested a replacement car and there wasn't one available. We rented a car for a Florida trip, so we got the pleasure of driving from Michigan to Florida, and back, in a dirty car that smelled like an ashtray.  Emailed corporate and they offered 50 dollars off the next rental, poor form, I'll stick with Enterprise!

They gave me a dirty car that smelled like cigarette smoke and gym socks. No one cared that I was upset. They said the car was 2016 but only the engine was from 2016. The body was from 1998. No joke. They gave me a car from the 90s and tried to pass it off as a 2016. It was the worst experience I've ever encountered renting a car. Do not use Hertz. I'll never come here again. God only knows what they claim about their other cars.

Those guys definitely know how to honor and accommodate their customers... Fast professional and effectively customer friendly..

Great location. Brian and team always take care of me and I have never seen an instance over 15+ rentals from this location where a customer has been upset or has not received top notch, professional service. These guys rent a TON of cars on a weekly basis and always do a great job.
