***DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE*** The service here is AWFUL. If I did not have to put a one star just to write this review, I wouldn't give them that. The people here are very rude once you actually get a hold of someone after being transferred from place to place and hung up on 5 times. They give you a customer service line where there's clearly a language barrier in which they do not comprehend what you are saying. When you ask for the direct number to the actual place you rented the car- you cant get it as if they know their service is horrible and don't want anyone to be able to get a hold of them. My husband recently took a trip out to LAX and rented a car there on Saturday. He returned the car the very next day on Sunday before flying back home and from there- they never closed his account and charged him the very next day and the day after. He called and they claimed that it takes 5-7 days to check the car in which is NOT acceptable and I have never heard of anything like that. So they continue to charge my husband's card until the 3rd day, they decided to make threatening phone calls stating that they are going to report the car stolen because they have not received It yet. So, not only did they overdraw his account- they threaten to report the car stolen. Furious, my husband had to leave work to go down to the Thrifty's at the Airport back home because once again you cant get a hold of anyone. Once we arrived, the location Manager said his account wasn't closed out so she would have to call and have it closed out. In doing so the Manager at this location was getting frustrated because she couldn't reach the place either as no one knows any of the centers direct numbers- not even there counterpart in different locations/states- (NOW WHY IS THAT?!). So, the Manager called around and was pretty much getting the same run-around that we got. After 45 minutes of trying every number she finally got a hold of someone who said his paperwork was sitting in front of him showing that the car was returned and that it wasn't entered in the system yet BUT you all are sending threatening phone calls and billing my husband's account daily. Not only did this have him leaving work to go up to the Airport, this was an embarrassment. He could have been pulled over at any time and they would've thought he had stolen a car and it could've turned bad. With that being said, my husband wanted a refund which was only for two days and they did not give him one; they did not care and hung up the phone on him- Not to mention my husband's account is still overdrawn and they said he should get the refund for the extra days they charged him in 5-7 days. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE RENT FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE.... IF YOU LEFT SOMETHING IN THAT RENTAL THAT WAS IMPORTANT, YOU COULD FORGET ABOUT IT... WORST SERVICE EVER...WORST CAR RENTAL PLACE EVER...

Very long wait. Not enough staff to serve incoming customers. Long waiting times and standing in line. The car was good quality and clean and a nonsmoker car; around 30K miles. The price was very competitive. Just the process of renting the car is cumbersome and lengthy. When I returned the car my experience was much better. The check out process was quick and there was an issue with the final bill. The check out agent was very friendly and got me processed within minutes. Before closing out the bill I was able to talk to the supervisor and she was very competent and fixed the problem within 5 minutes. I think if Thrifty had more staff to serve its customers at peak times it would be a great car rental. The car was good quality and the instructions given by the staff very clear. Somehow they need to fix the check in process. After all it is LAX which is a high volume US airport and real big surges of customers should be expected. Overall Thrifty has great potential and needs to work on their system processes.

We had a great experience with Thrifty LAX. Got the car we wanted (Ford Focus SE 2017) with everything we needed (every options in the car, 24/7 assistance from Thrifty). In 3 weeks and after 3000km, nothing bad happened with the car or with Thrifty. Check in was fine, check out was perfect too. 3 wonderful weeks in California, thanks to our car!

The wait in line was a little longer than expected but they had six people behind the counter so they were prepared. I got the SUV which I requested and it was nice, clean and for a really good price. Easy transportation to and from the airport. i would definitely use them again.

Thrift couldn't get the original contract entered and completed correctly at pick up. Upon returning the car, the desk agent couldn't fix it.  They told me to wait while the manager worked to resolve the issue and get me a receipt. When I told the manager that I had a flight to catch, he offered to email the receipt.  I told him I wanted something in writing showing the total that would be charged to my card. He gave me the incomplete original contract with some writing on it but nothing showing a total due.  He assumed that was all I needed, so he went to reboot his computer and send me an email saying that it would 5 to 10 minutes.  I thought he understood that I wanted to leave with a receipt, so I waited.  After close to an hour, I asked the original agent to check on progress, but he came back saying that the manager was working on it.  I asked another agent to  check, but he didn't offer any information.  Finally I got back in line and told the desk argent to get the manager out to talk to me.  He came out 75 minutes after this all started.  The manager didn't offer an apology, other than that he had told me he would email it in 5 to 10 minutes (an hour earlier). We disagreed that we left it as an email being the final resolution. He then left to go back to the back room with no explanation, so I got on the bus to catch the flight.  I barely made it in time to get my bag checked. That location is broken, and the manager needs some remedial training.
