After a really horrible experience at another USPS location in Brooklyn, and reading someone’s comment about giving Manhattan a chance, I decided to come here and see if the experience will be any different. It actually was - and the young lady who attended to me made all the difference. She was really courteous and helpful, patiently explaining my mailing options and answering my questions. She extended the same courtesy to the lady before me, and she had way more questions than me. This does not invalidate all the bad experiences shared by other reviewers and I probably just got lucky this time around. But I think it’s important to give credit where it’s due and the 5 stars is really for the excellent service during my latest and so far only visit. If I came back and the experience was different, I’m more than willing to provide an update and change my rating.

Worst post office in the United States. Clerks are misleading and trying to do unnecessarily things. Do not show basic human kindness and understanding. I do not understand how they even be at this job. It is a government job and it is not easy to get rid of those monsters. But they definitely should go away and replaced by normal people.

Went in for my daughters passport, had most things filled wrong. The teller there helped us redo new paperwork, took new pictures, Great experience. !!

In my opinion the staff is helpful and service is fast. Like most places the experience you get is hit or miss depending on the staff member you get, but my experience has been nothing but positive.

Joseph at the passport desk should develop some basic human kindness. Maybe he already has that skill, but he definitely doesn't use it at work. Joseph, it's lot more rewarding going back home in the evening thinking you helped someone rather than thinking you made somebody miserable.
