I don't usually write reviews but this was the worst rental experience of my life.

Tried to rent a car on a Saturday; no one showed up for 2 hours. 9 people waiting in line, I call customer service and they have no way of contacting the manager so no option but to wait, it's now 9am and I'm really late so I go to dollar car rental in the garage of the mall and get a car from them.

Next day drop it off, go back via Avis desk to complain. Worst staff ever, not 1 of them were bothered that they werent in yesterday morning. Say they won't do anything and the only thing I can do is call Avis and complain.

I Call Avis and they agree it was their error and will refund me full difference. I waited 2 weeks and only 34$ hits my account. I call again, they say they have realised error, but say will see money in 5-7 days. Nothing happens, I call again, same cycle. 

It's now been 2 months and still haven't seen my money. Worst customer journey ever. Do not use Avis, the people at dollar were so much nicer and friendlier!

I rent here regularly and Lawrence in particular has always been excellent. Fast, friendly service and always willing to help with any questions. The cars have been consistently good.

Three notable features of this Avis location:

1- Agent counter in mall, car in parking lot:  This isn't "bad" per se, but complicates tracking of the car or flagging any issues with the vehicle.  So this is fyi -- note it does complicate after hours returns

2- Inventory not guaranteed: This Avis runs out of rental cars fairly regularly -- that's pretty horrible for business travelers or anyone with definite plans.  Arrive very early in the day or assume your risk.  This has happened to me twice at this location, so I'm only using it for 8am reservations from here onwards

3- Fuel gauge extortion: in three-of-four rentals the agreement listed gas levels at "full" and actual level was well below full.  You then need to call Avis or haggle with the agent when returning to get this corrected -- a problem when the agent is all the way back in the mall, a 10 minute walk (see first comment).  This seems like an extortionate plot targeting people unwilling to hassle ... and is very bad business practice

So, in short, I loathe this location and prefer to use Hertz or Budget nearby.

I had taken a vehicle rental here recently, they had charged me additional 80$ as I returned vehicle late by 30 mins . They didn’t mention anything at time of returning vehicle ...just gave the receipt ..observed receipt at end of the day and shocked to see the amount. It was mentioned that hourly rate is 49.5 and day rate is 66. Worst rental agency ...I would never go to this place again for vehicle or rental.

No cars when we showed up, had to wait 2 hours. Car was dirty and had a half tank of gas when we got it.
