Upon my arrival, they refused to rent me the car, saying I needed to be a UK resident to utilize a UK rate booked via a third party reservation site. But I AM a UK resident, yet they rejected my work visa and offer to provide proof of residency, instead demanding a UK license and UK passport, which I don't have (but which are also not required for UK residency). They advised that this was the third party site's policy, not Alamo's. However, I checked with the reservation site (Auto-Europe) and they have no such policy. It seems Alamo has a conflicting internal policy which was not documented anywhere on the reservation, yet which left me paying for a car I couldn't pick up. Horrible service - avoid like the plague!

This should be considered my worst car rental experience. It's not entirely Alamo's fault though. Here's what's bad
The biggest problem is that you don't get to choose your car. They just assign whatever they want according to your order. We were forced to take an car that we would never pick. 
They only have Chevy cars. No other brand. So even you get a different car, option is limited
The car we got is not a full tank of gas. It missed about 12% of gas. They charge 4 plus dollars to refill if you don't return with full tank. Looks like they might took the money without filling the car 
The car we got has sound proof problem, and it's so loud on the highway!

Bad prices they give you a different price when you pick up the car. Horrible

Everything went smooth. Got really nice Chevy Traverse. No additional charges. Everything according to schedule. Thank You Alamo!

The Alamo agents were so rude that I will never rent a car through Alamo again. They were incredibly unfriendly and impatient with questions. I picked up my car at SLC airport and, having never been in Utah before, originally thought the locals were bit standoffish. In fact, I found the people of Utah to be very welcoming and kind. The employees at Alamo are ill-mannered and unfriendly. To make matters worse, the Enterprise counter was right next door and I watched their employees treat customers properly while the Alamo agents made me feel like I was wasting their time. Additionally, an Enterprise agent had to show me where my car was parked in the garage because I didn't see an Alamo employee around to help. I got the impression that the Enterprise agents were accustomed to helping Alamo's customers.
